How we use data — in plain language
Location: Used to deliver nearby alerts and show points of interest. Your current GPS location is not stored. You can set a home location for alerts.
Account profile: Name, email, and avatar are used for identity, personalization, and messaging.
Posts & interactions: Content you post (including pet photos), comments, reactions, and bookmarks are used to provide the core community features.
Messaging: Direct messages are end‑to‑end encrypted. Your private key stays on your device and is not transmitted or stored by Safe Paws.
Notifications: Device tokens are used to send alerts via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
Diagnostics & analytics: We use Firebase for crash reports and usage analytics to improve the app.
Sharing: We do not sell or share your data with third parties beyond the services listed above.
Retention & deletion: On request, we delete your account data within 1 day. You can submit a deletion request from the app or via our support form.
